Lab Assistants Lab Assistants is a program that has been in development for the past two years. The full program is now ready to launch in the 2003-2004 school year. With that in mind, I need your help!

What is a Lab Assistant?
A Lab Assistant is a 6th grader who helps me maintain a safe laboratory environment. They track supplies, test equipment, and help keep the lab clean. During class, if I need some materials, I will ask one of my lab assistants to get it for me. If a teacher in the building needs something, one of my lab assistants will deliver it. The team will also help me set up labs for 6th grade and other grades if needed. In general, my lab assistants are my "right hand" team.

Who can become a Lab Assistant?
Lab Assistants is now open for all 6th graders. At the beginning of the year, I will have an application form available. Pick it up, fill it out, and turn it back in to me. From those who apply, I choose my team.
The requirements to be a lab assistant are:
1. A responsible student
2. Be on time
3. Be able to work in a team
4. Maintain 75+ average in all classes
5. Maintain an S in conduct in all areas

What is the time commitment?
I will be breaking up my lab assistants into two teams: an AM team and a PM team. The AM team will meet in the Science Lab at 7:20; the PM team will meet after school until 3:20. During the school day, the time will be while you are in my science class. This commitment is for the whole year. Don't worry, there are days we get done quickly and have some fun!
